Philosophy for Senate Endorsements
In the current political environment, we would prefer that the U.S. Senate be controlled by the party that does not control the White House. Unfortunately, it is extremely uncertain, at this time, whether that will be Harris or Trump. We are, therefore, left with the difficult task of deciding who to endorse in the various Senate races based on the merits of the candidates themselves, without regard to party.
The Current List of Endorsed Candidates
In no particular order we are endorsing the following candidates for the U.S. Senate:
Sherrod Brown (D) in Ohio
Larry Hogan (R) in Maryland
Robert Casey (D) in Pennsylvania
Tim Kaine (D) in Virginia
Amy Klobuchar (D) in Minnesota
Jon Tester (D) in Montana
Colin Allred (D) in Texas
Angus King (I) in Maine
John Deaton (R) in Massachusetts
Ruben Gallego (D) in Arizona
Martin Heinrich (D) in New Mexico
Elissa Slotkin (D) in Michigan
We are intentionally passing on endorsing anyone in the following state races for U.S. Senate:
Vermont
Connecticut
New Jersey
In the case of Vermont and Connecticut, this is because there is no acceptable candidate in these races. In the case of New Jersey, both of the candidates were acceptable.
If you want to follow our reasoning behind each of these endorsements, you can follow this link to the blog.
We will try to issue as many endorsements as possible in the remaining races as time allows.
If you have a particular race you would like us to review, please leave a message on the contact us page. You can do so anonymously, if you like. Just use xxx@xxx.com as your email address, if you prefer not to provide one.
