Background
The United States has provided bipartisan political support for the state of Israel since its inception. The U.S. has also played a crucial role in facilitating the successful negotiations between Israel and regional partners, including Egypt, the UAE, and Bahrain and has attempted, on numerous occasions, to broker an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
Recent developments have made a negotiated two-state solution more difficult to achieve in the near term, but it remains the most plausible long-term framework for resolving the conflict.
CIVPAC supports the State of Israel and wishes to see a resolution of the conflict, that includes both a Palestinian state and a secure State of Israel with defensible borders. Accomplishing this objective will be difficult.
